Pretty comfortable here in the westside of the metro area with warmer temps in the mid 40s this afternoon. Totally different story far east metro with the strongest wind so far this season blasting cold air out of the Gorge.
The cold air is pretty shallow (a couple thousand feet in western Gorge) so liquid rain that falls later this evening and overnight will all fall onto objects/roads and form a solid glaze…the most dangerous driving condition. Anywhere east of Troutdale should see a glazing with the worst conditions from Corbett to Multnomah Falls due to the 60-70 mph wind gusts at the same time. Farther east in Cascade Locks and Hood River snow will be mixed in as well. Ice Storm Warning is up for this area tonight.
Here in the metro area it'll be all rain, although quite close to freezing rain in Troutdale/North Gresham. Those of you in the higher parts of that area or Camas/Washougal might see trees/bushes get some ice overnight, but not on roads.
The next 8-9 days look much milder and very wet.
