A Portland man will be arraigned on murder charges this morning in connection with the death of Gresham man. Alamo Williams, 42, was arrested at his home on Wednesday. Police believe he shot and killed 31-year-old Jeffery Pope Jr. over the weekend.
Pope was found dead in his car outside the Rockwood Apartments on 173rd and Couch in Gresham on Saturday afternoon. Evidence collected at the scene led investigators to believe that his death was a homicide. Further investigation linked Williams to Pope and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Williams is being held in the Multnomah County Jail without bail.
