Longview business owner says he was the target of arson

A Longview business owner said someone set one of his vans on fire and took off. Jason McClure said on the morning of Aug. 25 a person put some sort of flammable liquid on the front tire of one of his cleaning vans that he uses for his business PUIRI Cleaning and Restoration.

Roommate: Man accused of arson in SE Portland struggled with mental health issues

A Portland man is accused of setting his own apartment on fire while several others in the building slept Tuesday morning. The fire broke out just after 5 a.m. in the 4400 block of Southeast 99th Avenue. 66-year-old Gumersindo Guevara-Carlo is now facing an arson charge in the Multnomah County Jail. Neighbors said many were screaming for everyone to get out as the fire broke out in the first-floor apartment.

Stolen power tools were recovered during a search warrant at an address in Rockaway Beach on Aug. 29. Rockaway Beach police said they assisted in executing a search warrant at a home on South Island Street in Rockaway.

Portland Bureau of Transportation said the project will close on Sept 23, a week earlier than planned to accommodate Multnomah County's Burnside Bridge Maintenance Project.

A young wildland firefighter from Eugene has died after doing what he loved, fighting fires. His family said, though, it wasn’t on the fire lines. 20-year-old Eric Aarseth died after contracting a deadly infection. Chris Aarseth, Eric’s father, told FOX 12 they’re still in shock.

A rash of car break-ins at a local dog park during Labor Day weekend has some owners concerned. FOX 12 spoke with a woman whose SUV window was shattered and her purse stolen despite having a car alarm. Police told us there were three car break-ins and one attempted break-in here at Hondo Park, in just two days. And they still haven't caught the person responsible.
